Hi folks—
After 4 months of incredibly hard work by the board and staff of the Finkelstein Memorial Library in Spring Valley, we won the library’s budget vote tonight with a whopping 70% of the vote. The unofficial results (4 voting machines but no absentee ballots) the totals were 1909 in favor and 822 against.
 
This is a great victory since the library’s budget went down last year by 180 votes amid some stiff opposition from the local Chasidic community. The strategy was simple—direct mail, community outreach, phone banking, voter ID and Get Out the Vote!
 
Victory is sweet!
